Frederique Constant Worldtime Watches - A Design Miracle
The Swiss company was founded in 1988 by Aletta and Peter Stas. Over the years, the young label has developed into a successful watch manufacturer. In 2012, the Frédérique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture was added to the Frédérique Constant SA collection.
The Swiss brand stands for uncommon design, innovative impulses and highly developed technology at a top price. Mostly computer-aided design software is used to improve the design and the development process of the luxury watches. It all started with the FC-910 hand-wound calibre with visible balance. Since 2008, the company has been producing its own self-winding movements, such as the Frédérique Constant FC-980 calibre and, since 2009, the FC-700 series. The calibre 710 is a self-winding movement with a central second hand. It has a total of 137 components, a diameter of 30 mm and a height of 6.2 mm and runs for approximately 42 hours.
The popular men's watch with world time
The Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture model is equipped with the FC-718 calibre and an additional module that enables it to maintain a power reserve of at least 38 hours. Thanks to the classic world time display, the watch shows the time of many countries around the world. The crown allows you to make all the necessary adjustments to the watch, including setting the correct time zone. The date hand moves clockwise when the crown is pulled out halfway, while the outer city ring moves in the opposite direction. The luxury automatic stainless steel watches are available from around £2,800.
Limited to 88 pieces, the Frédérique Constant Geneve Classics Worldtimer rose-coloured model has a diameter of 42 mm, is water-resistant to three bar and has a stainless steel case back. At about £16,000, this model is in the upper price range.
The Worldtimer watch - high quality with top ratings
Launched in 2012, the Frédérique Constant Worldtimer models have been a huge success for the Manufacture. These men's watches feature a movement displaying the seconds, minutes and hours, as well as a large date display at the 6 o'clock position. In addition, the 24-hour counter with integrated day/night indicator shows the exact time in the world's 24 largest cities simultaneously with a single crown. The Swiss watchmaker knows how to combine jewellery with technical know-how, and the designers and engineers have created a true technical marvel.
The latest models feature a highly polished three-piece stainless steel case, a domed sapphire crystal and a transparent caseback. Their water resistance is an impressive 50 metres. The silver version has black oxidised and polished minute and hour hands and Roman numerals for contrast. This silver watch is also available with a detailed world map on the dial. Midnight blue minute and hour hands with luminescent hour markers complete the look. The high-quality stainless steel bracelet has five links and is fastened with a pin buckle.
The Worldtimer model not only boasts sophisticated technical details, but also impresses watch lovers with its exquisite quality. As an alternative to the stainless steel bracelet, the Worldtimer is also available with a high-quality alligator leather strap, available in dark blue, brown and black with white, brown or black stitching.
