Maurice Lacroix Pontos
The origins of Maurice Lacroix date back to the late 19th century, though the brand only established its own identity on the market in 1975. From the 1960s onwards, the company supported fellow watchmakers in their production efforts through its dedicated manufacture in Saignelégier, a partnership that allowed Maurice Lacroix to accumulate a depth of horological expertise that would later become the foundation of its own in-house craftsmanship. By the turn of the millennium, the brand had completed its evolution into a fully-fledged manufacture.
Maurice Lacroix stands as a benchmark for quality and innovation, offering a carefully curated collection that spans a broad range of price points without ever compromising on refinement. In collaboration with renowned watchmaker Andreas Strehler, the brand developed its proprietary ML 106 calibre, engineered exclusively for its chronograph references. From the distinguished Pontos collection to its precisely crafted quartz timepieces, which represent the most accessible entry point into the Maurice Lacroix world, the manufacture continues to captivate with an exceptional portfolio of high-grade timepieces.

Sport and sophistication, the modern dress watch redefined
Introduced in 2000, the Pontos collection stands as one of Maurice Lacroix's most enduring achievements. Select references feature a practical GMT complication, while the collection's timeless design is elevated by a refined sunray-brushed dial finish. Dials are available in black, white, blue, and anthracite. Since the line's comprehensive relaunch in 2016, the Pontos family has expanded beyond three-hand models to include a distinguished range of chronographs, each driven by a high-grade ETA automatic calibre.
Dive deeper, the Pontos S diver's watches
Among the most coveted references in the collection is the Pontos S diver's watch, presented in a 43 mm case. Equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel and an automatic helium escape valve, this timepiece withstands pressures of up to 60 bar, a water resistance rating of 600 metres, making it fully suitable for professional saturation diving. The bezel is operated via an additional crown positioned at 2 o'clock. Luminescent material applied to the numerals, hands, and indices ensures effortless legibility in low-light conditions. Chronograph variants within the Pontos S family are water-resistant to 20 bar (200 metres) and, while omitting the helium escape valve, retain the characteristic inner rotating bezel. The standard reference is housed in polished stainless steel.
The Pontos S Extreme sees Maurice Lacroix push material innovation further, introducing Powerlite, a proprietary alloy combining magnesium, aluminum, zirconium, ceramic, and titanium. The result is a case of exceptional resilience and remarkable lightness. This advanced compound also lends itself to an extensive palette of finishes, including blue, grey, green, and black.
An exceptional wristwatch, new gentlemen's references
To mark the Pontos collection's 20th anniversary, Maurice Lacroix enriched its catalogue with a limited-edition single-pusher chronograph in vintage aesthetic, alongside two new Day Date variants and two additional automatic chronograph references. The anniversary chronograph is distinguished by its intricately detailed case architecture, with the pusher safeguarded by a robust crown protection system. The gently inclined, polished bezel is framed by a delicate satin-finished edge. Shared across all automatic references in the anniversary line are the crown's characteristic spiral fluting and the alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces of the lug facets.
Priced at under €4,000, the limited chronograph is powered by the in-house ML166 automatic calibre and presented in a 41 mm PVD-coated case. Its most striking feature is the dial's gradient, flowing from deep black to mid-grey and accented by contrasting red and blue scales.
The non-limited 43 mm automatic chronograph, references powered by the ML112 calibre and housed in stainless steel, adopts a more restrained dial language. Options include a white lacquered dial with blue accents, or a grey dial complemented by warm gold tones. Notably, this updated reference introduces Arabic numerals for the hour markers for the first time. The collection is available on a leather strap from approximately €2,500, or on a stainless steel bracelet from around €2,700.
The Pontos Day Date was the first reference within the collection to receive a thorough redesign, debuted in 2017. That generation offers a three-dimensional dial aesthetic, water resistance to 100 metres, a beat rate of 4 Hz, and a power reserve of 38 hours. The SW200 movement has been decorated by Maurice Lacroix's workshops and is visible through the exhibition caseback.
The latest Day Date references offer a choice between a bronze-cased model with a striking green dial and a stainless steel variant with a silver dial. The latter is available on either a leather strap or stainless steel bracelet, with pricing starting below €1,600. Both references share a 41 mm case diameter and are driven by the automatic ML143 calibre. Common to all new Day Date models are triangular indices, trapezoidal hands, an inner minute track, and signature dial apertures, positioned at 6 o'clock for the date and at 12 o'clock for the day of the week.
