Seiko Men's Watches
Seiko's history began in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in Tokyo. Over the following decades, the company developed into one of Japan's leading watch manufacturers, combining mechanical watchmaking with advances in electronic timekeeping. Important milestones include Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, the introduction of an automatic chronograph with a vertical clutch in 1969 and the launch of the Seiko Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch, in the same year. Today, Seiko men's watches range from mechanical and automatic models to solar-powered and GPS Solar timepieces.

Seiko Men's Watches for Different Styles and Uses
Seiko men's watches range from sporty models and diving watches to more refined mechanical timepieces. Depending on the collection and reference, Seiko uses automatic, hand-wound, solar, quartz, GPS Solar and Spring Drive movements. This variety allows customers to choose a watch according to its design, intended use, and preferred movement technology.
Grand Seiko, originally introduced in 1960, became an independent brand in 2017 and is therefore no longer presented as part of the current Seiko men's watch collection.
Seiko Automatic Watches for Men
Automatic movements play an important role in Seiko's men's watch range. The company develops mechanical calibres for collections including 5 Sports, Presage, Prospex, and King Seiko, offering different levels of performance and finishing depending on the model.
The Seiko 5 Sports SRPE67K1 is one example. It features a stainless steel case and the automatic Calibre 4R36 with manual winding capability, a stop-seconds function, day and date display, and an approximate 41-hour power reserve. Its Hardlex crystal, 10-bar water resistance, and nylon strap make it a versatile option for everyday wear.
Seiko Prospex Diving Watches
Seiko's diving-watch history dates back to 1965, when the company introduced Japan's first diver's watch. Today, diving watches form an important part of the Prospex collection, which includes models designed for both recreational and professional use.
Depending on the reference, Prospex diving watches are available with different mechanical, solar, and Spring Drive movements, case constructions, and levels of water resistance. Features such as unidirectional rotating bezels, highly legible hands and indices, robust cases, and diving-specific water resistance are used across selected models according to their intended purpose.
Seiko Kinetic and Spring Drive
Seiko has developed a number of distinctive movement technologies over its history. In 1988, the company introduced the technology later known as Kinetic. It uses an oscillating weight driven by the wearer's wrist movement to generate electricity, which powers a quartz movement.
Spring Drive takes a different approach. Its sole motive power comes from a mainspring, as in a mechanical watch, while Seiko's Tri-synchro regulator controls the movement using mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic energy. This technology enables the characteristic continuous glide motion of the seconds hand. Spring Drive is used in selected Seiko Prospex models, including the LX line.
